Squamish Fishing Report - Whistler Fly Fishing Report
Updated June 29, 2009 Whistler/Squamish Area Lakes: Lakes have warmed up considerably since the end of Spring. Patterns that are working include midge patterns, stimulators, elk hair caddis on the surface when fish are rising. Try a leech when fish are not showing. Chironomids in size 14 and 12 are also producing fish. Whistler/Squamish Area Rivers: The Squamish River is finished until the pinks return this August. The Cheakamus and the Mamquam up and down depending on rain now. Try nymphs early in the day followed by topwater patterns in the afternoons. The Birkenhead is at Summer flow levels and is fishable daily with stonefly and caddis patterns producing fish. There is no fishing for Chinook in the Birkenhead river.

Alaska Fishing Charter
    Every fisherman dreams of the day that he or she can make the pilgrimage to the fabled Mecca. Living your Alaska fishing charter dream doesn't have to wait any longer. It's more affordable than you realize. There are many Alaska Fishing Charter packages to fit just about any budget.
Normally, there are 3 types of Alaska fishing Charter, full day charter, half day charter and combination charter, depend on season and kind of fishes. 

Full Day Charter:

    Full day charter; typically depart at 6:30 am to 4:00 or 5:00 pm. On full day ocean trips fisherman target Halibut and bottom fish or Salmon. Each lodge will take fisherman far into the wilderness, to some of the best fishing grounds in Alaska, to put you into the very best fishing areas that will get you into the thick of the action that make you a plenty of time on the fishing grounds to experience their excellent fishing with several techniques to catch halibut, bottom fish and salmon. They leave the dock prepared to either anchor the boat on specific structure and fish with live herring or cut bait such as octopus, herring, salmon heads or sablefish. Or drift and jig over large reefs and gravel beds using a variety of lead head jigs with rubber scampi tails
